By Michael Castellano It wasn't easy, picking the top ten most evil politicians, out of a list of hundreds of candidates. So we narrowed it down using some logical criteria. They have to currently hold office or be in a major media position so that eliminates people like Dick Cheney, who with a broader criteria would probably make the top ten. We'll begin with Number 10 and work our way down to the most evil ones. By evil we mean the most capable of doing the most damage to America, not just for personal obnoxiousness or peronal evilness. The main criteria is for political evil. 10 - Mayor of New York David Bloomberg
Bloomberg hold an extremely powerful position and has done great harm to many individuals. The fact that he has done a few decent things limited him to number 10 on our list. His number one act of evil has to be the massive number of illegal stop and frisks he has ordered through his police commisioner. They number in the 100s of thousands per year. If you are Hispanic looking or black and male, the odds are even money you've been stopped and searched at least once for no other reason. Second on Bloomberg's list of evil deeds has to be his treatment recently of the 99%ers. He gets honorable mention for the ridiculous bike lanes he has installed all over the city and his efforts to make people pay a toll to enter Manhattan.
9 - Peter King, Member of U.S. Congress, Committe Member, Homeland Security  Probably most of the evil deeds Mr. King is responsible for are not known to us, since he is a member of the Homeland Security Committee. But we'll start with the ones we do know about. He has been an out spoken leader of anti-Muslim sentiment in America, both locally and in his committee. King opposed President Obama’s decision to close Guantánamo and restrict interrogations and torture of alleged terrorists. King has also been a leader in the anti-immigration movment saying "we must secure our borders and stop illegal immigration. He sponsored the law to construct a 700 mile fence along the border with Mexico and supports hiring thousands more border patrol agents, utilizing the most advanced military technology and equipment at the border and imposing heavy fines and prison sentences for companies that hire illegal immigrants. He also opposes amnesty for the undocumented immigrants living in our country. As Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee he promised to hold hearings on Muslim radicalization, although to our knowledge he has not yet done so.
8 - Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio
A hero among white supremacists throughtout America for years, Joe Arpaio has long been known and feared in the immigrant community. He once bought pink underware and forced them to be worn by all male prisoners then in the local Phoenix jails. He has also forced prisoners to live in tents. He has openly and defiantly promised not to enforce any federal laws passed pertaining to gun control. He calls his deputies his posse, and may be one of a handfull of sheriffs in the country that support the open distribution and sale of assault weapons. Arpaio is probably one of most "in your face" politicians in the country. He is so infamous that the Mexican soccer team almost boycotted playing a game in the Phoenix area where he is Sheriff because of his anti-Mexican and anti-immigrant remarks and policies.
7 - John Boehner, Congressman from Ohio, Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives 
The list of evil deeds by Mr. Boehner, known unaffectionately in some circles as "Boner", is too long to be repeated here. Suffice it to say that as the head or speaker for House Republicans he has either proposed or completed more evil acts then any one else in this position to date. If Mr. Boehner resembles a used car salesman and acts like one that's because before he entered Congress he was one.
6 - Jimmy Swaggert, Alleged Religious Preacher and Televangelist 
Swaggert, a cousin of Jerry Lee Lewis, has been a main stay for scared poor folks, mostly white, for more than 40 years, and is famous the his "I have sinned against thee my lord" apology he made after being caught with a prostitute back in the late 1980s. Swaggert has taken millions of dollars from his devoted fans under the guise of being a religious leader. Blasting those who doubt his sincerity, blasting supporters of women's rights, and blasting those who, like himself, sleep with prostitutes. Today he talks much more softly, mellowing somewhat from the abrasive personality and extreme right wing politics he was once famous for. Rumor has it that he now makes far less than others in the trade of bilking people.
4 and 5 Ann Coulter, Columnist 
Coulter has become rich by mastering the art of making half-true, half-false witless statements and for spouting right wing insults. She has made literally hundreds of appearances on right wing talk shows spreading her message of hate and racism and ridiculousness to any one who will listen to her. She is successful because those individuals that like her don't get or don't care about how wrong she is about everything she promotes as a "fact". She gets numbers 4 and 5 because of her longevity in the being evil business at being stupid and for being an accomplished mindless attention grabber in the tradition of Joe Pyne.
3 - Mitt Romney, former Governor of Massachusetts and losing candidate for President of the U.S. 
Mr. Romney made the list for his hard work and dedication to eliminating American jobs where ever he found them, and for getting rich by firing people and putting them out of work. It is indeed fortunate that he did not become the next president.
2 - George Walker Bush, Ex-President of the United States 
 Known to many as "the chimp", Bush (seen on the left with fallen hero Lance Armstrong) made this list rather that the real president he served under Dick Cheney, because Cheney did not qualify as still being alive, although he breathes still. Someone without a heart does not qualify according to our rules. Mr. Bush is still considered living, if not thinking. He does still drink and fall out of couches. And his, along with Cheney's, substitute of Iraq for Afganistan in 2001 led to the deaths of more than a hundred thousand Iraqis and Americans. We will not bore you with the rest of his list of infamous deeds dating back to going his days with the Texas Rangers.
1 - Paul Ryan, Congressman from Wisconsin and head of the Budget Committe in Congress 
Ryan has been selected as number one on our list because he is a front man for some of the most dangerous and reactionary policies in terms of social security and medicare since their creation. He stands for their eventual complete destruction and no one comes close to being in his league as an evil, heartless but clever bastard since the retirement of Dick Cheney.
We are also giving Cheney an honorary award as the number one evil politician in the country even though he did not strictly meet our criteria being that he is not dead but strictly speaking, not alive either. After all, he did set the standard of evilness for a long 8 years while in office and should not been forgotten. Honorable mention also goes to Newt Gingrich, who has long been out of office but he was done more than a little in terms of precedent setting in evil standards and acts. Even though he now seems to be on the Viagra circuit.
